The South Carolina Historical Society sponsors a number of events for members and their guests throughout the year. From the South Carolina History Lecture Series and our Annual Meeting to Carolina Day and the Fall Tour, we hope you will join us! Here are just a few of the events planned for 2010:

• April 28: The documentary Cheating the Stillness: The World of Julia Peterkin will premiere at the main branch of the Charleston County Public Library.
  
  
• June 28: Carolina Day 2010
  
  
• September 18: the Historical Society will commemorate the 150th anniversary of secession with a gala event at Society Hall in Charleston.
  
  
• September 25-26: the second annual Museum Mile Weekend
  
  
• October 31: the Annual Fall Tour
  
  
• December 2-4: in partnership with The Citadel, the Historical Society will sponsor a symposium on the presidential election of 1860 and secession
